Want To Put Some Spring In Your Step This Season? Ask Our Podiatrist

March 29, 2023

Spring is that time of year so many of us look forward to. Days are longer, temperatures are warming up nicely and flowers are beginning to bloom! It’s time to get outdoors and enjoy the change of seasons! And to make sure you’re putting your best foot forward, it’s the perfect time to visit our podiatrist at Issaquah Office to get your walking, hiking, running or athletic activities off on the right foot, so to speak!

If you haven’t been to see our doctor of podiatric medicine for a while, there are plenty of reasons to have a comprehensive, hands-on examination before ramping up your activities this Spring. Our feet change over time as we age, and the way we care for them needs to change, too.

Here are a few considerations to keep in mind before hitting the road, trail or playing field:

  • Are you wearing the right size and type of footwear for the activity you’re engaged in? Is that footwear providing the ankle and arch support for your sport? Whether you’re a high-altitude hiker, a long-distance runner, or a casual walker, the right boot or shoe makes a huge difference. This is especially important for diabetics who may need extra protection.
  • Have you had your orthotics or inserts checked? Prescription orthotics and over-the-counter inserts need to be adjusted or changed over time, especially if they are being paired with new footwear.
  • Are you choosing the proper sock for your activities? The right combination of cushioning and breathability is key to comfort and performance.

The last thing any of us want in the Spring is to be sidelined by painful feet or ankles. If you haven’t been examined by our podiatrist at Issaquah Office for a while, we’ll make sure you get off on the right foot this Spring! Please don’t hesitate to contact us today for an appointment.
